In First Peter 4:1-2 the following words were recorded: “Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; That he no longer should live to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.” One thing that we, as people of God, are in the habit of saying is that we want to be in the will of God. This is truly a blessed place to be. However, no one wants tests and trials in their lives, which is natural. The truth of the matter is that tests and trials in our lives are part of God’s will. This is a large part of the growth process for God’s people. The Apostle Paul informs us in Galatians 5:22 that one of the fruits of the Spirit is longsuffering. Therefore, even though it may be natural for us to complain when trouble comes, try to remember that you are growing in the Lord. Increase your prayer life and Bible study during these times. You will find that God will give you strength from the prayer and wisdom from his word. When he brings you out of the trouble, strengthen your brother or sister in the Lord that they can make it also.
