The prophet Isaiah recorded the following words in Isaiah 1:28-31 “Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary?  There is no searching of his understanding.  He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.  Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:  But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”  How many times has there been in our lives where we say “I just give up.”  We experience life’s tests and trials, regardless of the kind, and they either last too long for us, or the thing that we want God to do for us does not happen when we want it to and we give up.  Isaiah is letting us know that God does not give up on us.  As a matter of fact he gives us strength and continues to renew it as we wait upon him.  Waiting for the Lord is never in vain no matter how discouraged we become because he is faithful.  We also become stronger and develop more weapons of warfare in our wait.  Therefore, do as the Psalmist David said in Psalm 27:14 “Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.”
