The apostle Peter wrote the following words in I Peter 1:3-5, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.  To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”  As we walk with God and encounter the trials of life, we have a tendency to forget that he is always present to help us.  As David said in Psalm 46:1, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” When trials come and we find ourselves weak, we should always remember that our strength is in the Lord.  It is he that keeps us.  We are not able to keep ourselves.  Whenever we attempt to keep ourselves, such as fighting our own battles, or not seeking the Lord for direction in our lives, our problems will increase instead of decrease.  Paul tells us in Ephesians 6:10:18 to be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might.  He continues to say put on the whole armor of God.   Let us remember that we are kept by the power of God and not by our own power.
